Happy Saturday!

Well this week has just flown by....my goodness! I had my first two Christmas concerts with the concert band, and while there was a blip or two, I think they both went pretty well. After the shows I met some very nice and appreciative folks....their gratitude was incredible. A man actually said to me, with tears in his eyes, that my version of Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas was 'the closest thing he'd heard similar to Nancy Wilson in a long time'! Nancy Wilson! Are you kidding me?!?!? She is absolutely amazing and there is no way I sound anywhere close to Ms. Wilson, but I was so flattered. I remember the very first time I heard her mellow, tender and sweet voice. I was probably 8 or 9 years old and she was guest appearing on the Cosby Show. When she opened her mouth and blessed the television world with her gift, I was FLOORED and said....'that's what I wanna do when I get older'. Tomorrow we are heading to Chicago to do a couple concerts there....and I will also do some Christmas shopping at the Woodfield mall which is in walking distance from our hotel. The only shopping I've done has been for myself....selfish I know...so I need to get crackin! Shopping always puts me in the Christmas spirit. Through all the crowdedness, shoving, things that are out of stock and sometimes grouchy employees, there's something about it that I can't quite place my finger on....I just love it!! I hope that Mom can come up for at least one concert, but I don't know because she has to work....

On Thursday, we had a ladies lunch (which always happens on Thursday) at Chevy's and we also did an ornament swap. I got a cool glass snowman, thanks Shawna! Here's a pic from the day with all the ladies who attended.
I bought some new Christmas decorations for outside and also put up our garage decoration that Mom made for me....check it out. The pictures aren't the greatest, they're not even the good-est, but you get the picture (no pun intended).
In other news, we think that Jas broke his finger. The other night he had a basketball game and during the jumpball he banged his hand on the referee's elbow! Look at his hand and tell me what you think....
I know that some people hate doing Christmas concerts but I love them. I like the fact that we bring so much cheer to people and get them in the holiday spirit. Tonight I have another gig and I hope that tonight is better than last night and that each subsequent concert gets better that the last.
Thanks for stopping by,
Keisha

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
