Going Home Today!

Pardon my absence, but as you can imagine...preparing to go home after 4 months requires a lot of prep time. And with Mom being here for the last leg (3 days) of the deployment, I've been quite busy. Stay tuned, because I have lots to update on here: My Mom's experience on the Tiger cruise, my last few days on the deployment, my arrival in Norfolk, and me...getting to see, shake hands with and take a photo with the FLOTUS...that is the First Lady of the United States, Mrs. Obama. Additionally, I will be doing a "20 Things I will and will not miss about the Comfort", so there are many things in store in future posts. As I prepare to fly out in a couple hours, I am snapping a few last minute photos of the ship to have for my memory book. It has been a good trip. Very rewarding and often times, very fun. Lots of hard work was put forth...and through the gallons of sweat I released (funny) and the pounds of dirt that found me...I am so grateful. Grateful for a nation that allows me to have the job I have...grateful for a nation that gives us the freedom to do what we choose to do in our lives, and grateful for a nation that lends a helping hand to those less fortunate. I am glad that I am returning home with my head held high knowing that we (the Comfort mission/the United States) have provided a miracle to so many people without hope...my heart is filled knowing that our music brought smiles to the faces of children...parents...shipmates...friends...and again, I am eternally grateful that our Lord brought me along to see Him in action through all of His shepherds.

I will write more when I get home so stay tuned!

Thanks for sticking with me throughout my journey....

Thanks for stopping by....
Keisha

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
