I'm 6 months from.....

....my 30th Birthday! Exactly 6 months from today i will no longer be a 2o somethings sweetie...I'm gonna be a 30 year old! Woo Hoo! So as so many have done in 30th birthdays of the past, i have decided to create a list of 30 things I would like to accomplish or at least start by my birthday. Some of the things are a bit too personal to post here but a few of the crazy things I can share are these:

1. Run a marathon. CHECK!!!

2. Run 30 races (not all marathons of course!) I already have my races for October planned out. This Friday is race number two.

3. Make a significant donation to a charity (ies). This doesn't necessarily have to be money. I have a few in mind that I am planning on donating to.

4. Read 6 books (besides my school books) by my birthday. I love to read but I have been so wrapped up in my school books lately, that I haven't gotten to pick up a good novel and enjoy reading. So I picked up one the other day. The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Mink Kidd. This book has been made into a motion picture and stars Queen Latifah, Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys. I hope it's good.

5. Go on a theatre weekend trip to NYC and stay in Manhattan...preferably near Central Park! I've mentioned it to Jas...we may do this in conjunction with a New Years Eve celebration in NYC...hmmm

These are just a few of my little goals. I have heard of so many people (especially women) dread their 30th birthday's, but I am looking forward to it. I look forward to every birthday, but this one is a milestone so I am really excited about it!

Well...the past few days around here have been pretty quiet. We'd had planned to go to the Oktoberfest, St. Louis style, but ended up having a really lazy day around the house...dontcha love those??? I know I do. We did go to Sherwin Williams to pick out some sample colors. We picked 3 colors. One color for the downstairs bathroom, one for our bedroom and one for the livingroom. I started with the bathroom and the color looks great....on the one wall that I painted:( We need to get back on it...I'm sick of these plain white walls...we didn't start any of the other rooms...surprise surprise?!

This Friday, we have a 'morale day' at work. Basically, instead of showing up to work...we get to hang out with people from work and do whatever we want. How cool is that? I'm going shopping...of course! It's going to be nice. Then after that, Jas and I are going to VA to see some friends. I wish I could have gotten to go a few days earlier because I could have seen my girl Becky...but I couldn't get out of rehearsals:( I miss you B and I hope the tour goes well. I can't wait to hear about it!

Well I'm signing off for now. I'm happy that I actually got to blog tonight because that means I finished my homework for the week! YAY!

Anyhoo..

Thanks for stopping by!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
