This weekend

I went to visit my sister, niece and nephew. My nephew Shawn is in a college prep program called 'Upward Bound'. For the past 6 weeks he has been an 'in-residence' student at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. While there he has been taking classes to earn extra credits for high school as well as getting to see different Universities in the area and go on fun trips with his fellow 'classmates'. This Saturday was their final banquet where awards were given out to those deserving students who displayed various levels of maturity and academic excellence. Shawn received 9 awards 2 of which were 'student of the summer' awards. Congrats Shawn! Keep up the great work, I'm so proud of you!!

I got a nice package in the mail today from my good friends John and Jamie. Thanks guys! I miss y'all. When are you guys going to be in the states?

There's not much going on this way...I start school again in 3 weeks! Woo hoo! I think I will probably be done by next year...I hope! Wish me luck!

TTFN!
Thanks for stopping by!

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
