Awaiting transit...
So after an early morning flight on Friday, we arrived in Norfolk and made our way to the base...NAS Norfolk is HUGE! And we are staying out in the boonies...but the rooms are quite nice. So Friday was a non-eventful day. We flew, we checked-in, we ate and we slept. I was supposed to go to a friends house on Saturday for their twins 3rd birthday party but I found out that we were scheduled to go on a ship tour an hour after the party was to begin...so of course, I didn't go...to the party that is. We teamed up with the Lackland crew and headed over to the ship for a full blown tour. We first stopped and got our Admin stuff taken care of, and then we headed off to our workplace. It's a big room full of beds, that we have to take out to make space for us. After that, we toured the entire ship. It was nothing short of amazing. They can do practically anything on this ship. We saw everything from the immunizations clinic to the operating rooms....Our 'tour guide' was such an awesome speaker, and knew EVERYTHING about the ship. We also got a glimpse of our living quarters. I will be bunking with 95 of my 'closest friends' for the next 4 months...I'm sure I will come out of this with many interesting stories to tell. Today we are heading over to start getting our workspace set up. We are mainly going to get those beds moved out and put aside so we can just get in and get started when the gear gets off-loaded.
So nothing too exciting has happened yet, but I did find out that I may be able to blog while I'm on the ship! So that would be awesome...because I could keep you guys updated on my journey. Here's hoping!
Here is a pic of the ship that I snapped the other day as we were leaving our ship tour. This baby is going to be home for the next four months!!
Thanks for stopping by....

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
