Thankful.....

I can't say that I have always been so appreciative of one of the most important things in life. My Body. I was born with this body and will die with it. Through thick (so often) and thin (less often), my body has been there for me. Never in my life have I given thanks to this body that has allowed me to do so much! So here goes nothing. Here's to you, you lovely, strong, amazing, healthy body you!!

- Thank you so much for not turning on me when I have not always been so kind to you. Instead of shutting down like so many other bodies have, you continue to replenish whatever it is you need to in order to keep me going.

- Thank you so much for allowing me to run the many miles I've run. Without fail, you repaired all the little muscle tears that happened as I pushed you further than I thought you'd ever go.

- Thank you so much for making all the little organs inside work how they should. How do you know that when I eat a lot of protein, you should take that and turn it into muscle? You little genius you! Now if we can only figure out how to turn all those cookies and cakes into fabulousness too....maybe we can work on that!

- Thank you for continuing to function even and carry around the extra weight I've put on you. You still allow me to keep up with my exercise without feeling like crap. I promise I will do my best to get that extra off so that you don't have to work so hard to pump my heart, and filter the air through my lungs....

- Thank you for allowing me to recall all the boring and challenging information from my Biology class when I really needed it. Because of you, I have been able to get that much closer to achieving one of my goals....getting my degree.

Overall, I just think you are an awesome body. I hope you can forgive my mistreating you. You have been the most forgiving body, and I can't thank you enough. I love you, and promise to be more thoughtful of you and the importance of treating you with the utmost respect. Afterall, you are the only one I get!

Thanks for stopping by.....
Keisha

Hi. Great post. I should write a letter to my body too. Actually, mine probably deserves a book rather than just a blog post. :)

I've enjoyed reading some of your posts. You take great pictures.

How cool is this. Thanks for the example.
Love ya

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
